KATICA NEW TIDE HEAD COACHTuscaloosa, AL - The University of Alabama announced today that Charlie Katica has accepted the position of Women's Head Wheelchair Basketball Coach next season. Katica a native of Washington State served as an Assistant Coach and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Crimson Tide Women last season. He has over 20 years of experience in the sport of basketball and 10 years experience coaching basketball and strength and conditioning since graduating from Central Washington in 2002. Katica is completing his Ph.D. at Alabama this semester in Exercise Science. He previously completed his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Exercise Science at Central Washington University. Head Men's Coach Miles Thompson and former Head Coach Brent Hardin will serve as Assistant Coaches on Katica's staff next season.
